Introduction
Text Box: The starting gun will sound. Regardless if the runners are ready, the gun sounds and the race begins. Similarly, education begins whether or not students are ready to learn. The goal of every coach and teacher is to prepare the runner and student for the race that is to come. The runner perseveres through extensive training in order to prepare for the race. Lifelong learners embrace instruction in and out of the classroom in order to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to grow. Coaches embrace runners of all talent levels and challenge each runner to train in a manner that pushes every one to his or her personal best for the race. Teachers coach their lifelong learners to push themselves in learning the content as well as build the skills necessary to apply their knowledge to their personal lives. The race of lifelong learning continues onward. When one race is finished, the runner begins preparations for the next race. Likewise, the lifelong learner builds on prior experiences, knowledge, and skills in order to prepare for the next opportunity.
